Last month, we introduced you to our new starter Scott McDonald as he shared his thoughts on his time at Murphy Wealth so far. Scott is an active sportsman like many members of our diverse team.
As summertime arrives, there has been an onrush of sporting achievement among our staff. Here’s what the team has been up to both close to home and in exotic locations around the world.
Adrian has been completing endurance challenges in the name of charity
Our CEO and the chairman of MND Scotland, Adrian Murphy, has routinely put his body to the test with amazing feats of endurance as part of his passionate drive to raise donations and awareness for charities close to his heart.
Last year, Adrian raised more than £75,000 for MND Scotland by undertaking five gruelling challenges, including a seven day “Monster Triathlon” that included a 5km swim in Loch Ness, a 1,000km cycling event, and a 50km marathon along the River Thames.
The MND Scotland cause is incredibly important to Adrian, as it helps support his brother Brian and others diagnosed with motor neurone disease.
This year, Adrian is taking part in the Chase the Sun North UK bike ride. Taking place on Saturday 24 June 2023, this is a 205-mile event navigating a coast-to-coast course across northern England and the Scottish borderlands. The event takes place from dawn to dusk as riders race to the finish line in Ayr over the course of a single day.

Adrian recently travelled to Hawaii to compete at the IRONMAN World Championship
The IRONMAN World Championship is an ultra-triathlon held annually in Hawaii. It is the annual culmination of a series of IRONMAN triathlon qualification races held across the world.
The event puts competitors’ bodies through a rigorous test, setting swimming, biking, and long-distance running challenges against the backdrop of the beautiful Hawaiian coastline.
Adrian successfully completed this year’s event, showcasing his ongoing commitment to fitness values and raising awareness for important charities.
Emma has been picked for Scotland’s Netball World Cup squad and will compete in South Africa this July
Emma Love joined our graduate programme in 2021 after graduating with a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Glasgow. She has developed into a wonderful member of our team.
Emma is a successful sportswoman and has represented Scotland as an international netball player both at age group level and most recently with the senior team.
The Vitality Netball World Cup is due to be played in Cape Town, South Africa from 28 July to 6 August 2023 and will be the first tournament to take place on the African continent.
Emma’s selection for the Scottish team is a point of great pride for the team at Murphy Wealth. We wish her all the best as she represents the nation as they go up against 15 other teams for the chance to be crowned world champions.
A new addition to the Murphy Wealth family
Lastly, our team has seen itself grow once more with the addition of our new summer intern, Ellen Keefe, who has joined the team before she goes off to travel. We are sure she’ll be a wonderful addition to the office, and we hope her experience at Murphy Wealth helps her launch a long and successful career.
Until next time!
