How we’re helping fledgling tech start-ups succeed in Scotland

At Murphy Wealth, we are always looking for opportunities to give back as part of our corporate and social responsibilities.

Previously, we have written about our ongoing charity work for MND. This month, we’d like to tell you about an exciting initiative we are supporting right here in Glasgow’s Sky Park. Read on to learn about our involvement in the words of our CEO – Adrian Murphy. Here’s what Adrian had to say:

We’ve been working alongside STAC to provide assistance to start-up tech firms

STAC (Smart Things Accelerator Centre) is a not-for-profit organization which provides an 18-month education programme for start-up tech businesses. The goal is to help these firms prepare for the challenges of growing a business and raising finance.

Murphy Wealth are proud sponsors of the programme, as we are passionate about helping young companies succeed and grow. We believe that by exploiting cutting-edge technologies, it might help provide high quality skilled jobs here in Scotland.

STAC is modelled on a similar programme in Canada which has now created many billion-dollar companies –just imagine if we could do that here in Scotland!

We recently hosted the latest cohort of companies up at Murphy Wealth HQ to learn more about their founders and also share with them how we plan to support the programme. We outlined to them how we’d like to contribute to creating a thriving technology ecosystem here in Glasgow.

We are also delighted to say that some of our clients are now helping to mentor a few of these companies by sharing their experiences of running and growing similar businesses.

Let us know if you would like to know more about the programme, as well as whether you think you could help a young company succeed and help them on this exciting journey.
