A new year message and a welcome: Your Murphy Wealth team update

A very happy new year from the Murphy Wealth team

After a busy Christmas and new year for the team at Murphy Wealth – not to mention a well-earned break – we’re all very much back in the swing of things and keen to hit the ground running in 2024.

It’s a busy time of year too, with tax-year end fast approaching and several high-profile government changes to contend with.

In 2023, we built on existing client relationships and nurtured new ones referred to us by you. And we’ll be looking to continue to grow the business in 2024. We’ll also be taking onboard the feedback we received via last year’s surveys and feedback sessions. Keep an eye out throughout the year as we look to implement your suggestions.

As I said in my Christmas update, we continue to strive to be the best financial planning firm around, so expect more of the same in 2024.

From all of us at Murphy Wealth, I wish you a very happy and prosperous new year.

Welcoming senior financial planner, Keith Harrison

Keith has recently joined us as a senior financial planner, bringing 20 years of experience and a keen focus on making your goals a reality.

Let’s meet him.

My story before Murphy Wealth

After graduating in History and Politics in the year 2000, I did a few jobs before accepting a role at the Abbey National (soon to become Santander UK).

During my time there, I did nearly every customer-facing and management role in the branches –from personal banker to branch manager! – before taking the plunge into advising in 2007.

After a few advice roles, I took redundancy from the bank in 2016 and “followed my dream” to become a history and modern studies teacher. As much as I enjoyed the experience of the classroom, it was merely “scratching an itch” and I quickly decided to return to helping people achieve their life goals by providing financial advice.

After a step back into financial services I was able to develop my skills as an IFA when I started my journey towards achieving Chartered status.

Murphy Wealth offers a personal workplace and a greater client focus

Having worked for a national firm, I was keen to get into a more personal environment with a greater focus on the individual client and their family. A company whose processes allowed me, as a planner, to spend the amount of time required to provide a great client experience and really understand what the households I dealt with wanted to achieve.

I wanted to work for a business that was laser-focused on the client and getting the details right.

When I read about the “human first” approach at Murphy Wealth it seemed a firm with a genuine commitment to understanding the individual and their goals. Lots of firms pay lip service to this, but there is a real commitment to it here and it is really refreshing.

I’ve had a positive and exciting start to my career at Murphy Wealth

As I’ve already said, I was looking for a particular type of business to join and I haven’t been disappointed in what I’ve experienced.

There is a commitment from senior management to focus on the “human first” and that filters right through the business and its processes. Human First™ is our approach and there is a determination to make that the case for each individual and family that we speak to, to ensure that they get the best outcomes possible.

It’s exciting to join a business that is dynamic, focused, ambitious and highly professional. The business is very supportive and wants all the staff to be the best they can be.

I’m delighted to be here!
